Audi has always been a brand proposing cutting-edge technology in its vehicles. It is still innovating today, and keeps surpassing itself to offer a cleaner and more exciting automotive future with the e-tron technology. Audi has begun developing all-electric and hybrid vehicles under the label of « e-tron » in 2009 to make electromobility a reality. Our first milestone was reached in 2012 when we tested this technology in our Audi R18 e-tron Quattro during the 24Hours of Le Mans.
The second important step made was the introduction of the first road-legal Audi featuring this race-track-tested innovation, in 2015, which was the Audi A3 Sportback e-tron. Underneath its traditional hatchback vehicle look, this incredible car, still for sale at Audi Blainville, features many of the latest technologies available in hybrid vehicles, such as its powertrain offering an impressive combined output of 204 hp. Thanks to this amount of horsepower, which involves electricity, it can offer great performance, with a run from 0 to 100 km/h taking just 7.6 seconds, while having an impressive 940-km operating range.
Audi is still innovating in the e-tron technology today. The latest result of this endless quest of the ultimate all-electric vehicle is the Audi e-tron Sportback concept, recently unveiled at Auto shanghai. This show-car, running on electricity alone, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, and have a maximum action radius of 500 kms.
