The market for electric vehicles has grown dramatically in recent years, and almost every manufacturer now offers at least one fully electric model.
This is also true for the top-of-the-line manufacturers, and Audi is set to take the lead in this hotly contested segment!
Audi Blainville, your preferred Audi dealer in the city bearing the same name, compares below the 2022 Audi Q4 e-tron vs the 2022 Mustang Mach-E in this blog article, to tell you why the Audi all-electric SUV is the better option of the two.
Autonomy: Q4 e-tron vs Mustang Mach E
When it comes to electric cars, range is one of the most important features. After all, you don’t want to risk running out of electricity in the middle of nowhere or on the highway! With a total autonomy of 399 km, the Audi SUV takes the early lead in this match-up, thanks to its slight advantage over most versions of the 2022 Mustang Mach-E, according to the Natural Resources Canada website. As for the Mach-E, the standard and e-AWD models offer a range of only 340 kilometres, still according to Natural Resources Canada. Its range increases to 370 kilometres with the rear-wheel drive version. However, it is not enough to take the lead against the Audi SUV, which is still the winner for this first round.

The Quattro Advantage of the Audi Q4 e-tron
Audi’s e-Quattro system was designed first to reduce energy consumption, and second to increase its total range. This system controls the power sent to each wheel, adapting to changing road conditions to deliver the best possible traction at all times. Note that some versions of the Mach-E are not equipped with AWD and offer instead rear-wheel drive. Hence, the Audi wins again when it comes to optimal motricity in all-weather conditions.

Exterior styling
The Audi Q 4 e-tron will seduce you with its elegant and daring design. Depending on the model you choose, it can be equipped with 19- or 20-inch wheels. Its design is successful from bumper to bumper, with a dynamic front end adorned with a stylish grille. When it comes to looks, the Audi SUV has no reason to envy the competition!
It also features front and rear LED headlamps, a power tailgate, standard aluminum roof rails – not available on the Mach-E – and a wire-free heated comfort/acoustic windshield, among other features.

Interior and Onboard Technologies
Like the Mach-E, the Audi Q4 e-tron can seat up to five passengers. However, the four-ringed SUV does enjoy a significant advantage over its rival: while the Ford model has a maximum cargo capacity of 1,420 litres, the 2022 Audi Q 4 e-tron offers between 521 and 1,490 litres, depending on whether the rear seat row is folded or not.
The Q4 also does very well compared to the competition when it comes to its long list of interior equipment. Depending on the model, your SUV will be equipped with a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit, a Bang & Olufsen audio system (not offered on the Mach-E), a 10.1-inch touchscreen, 3-zone climate control, heated front seats and ambient lighting, among other features.

While the Mustang Mach-E is well-equipped and has been successful for Ford, its interior really can’t match the level of elegance of the Q4. It is easy to recognize and fall in love with the subtle touch of refinement typical of the vehicles from the German manufacturer.
Inside your Q4, you will find many road safety technologies such as predictive pedestrian protection, front and rear parking sensors, manoeuvring assist (not available with Ford), traffic sign recognition and active cruise control with hands-on detection (not available with Ford), depending on the trim level you choose.

Engine and Performance
All versions of the 2022 Audi electric SUV are powered by two asynchronous electric motors that generate 220 kW or 295 horsepower. As for Ford, most Mach-E models offer a power output that ranges from 266 to 290 horsepower, while its top-of-the-line version cranks out 346 horsepower.
When it comes to charging, you’ll need less than 40 minutes to charge your Q4’s battery from 5% to 80% using a fast-charging station. If you are in a hurry, you can charge about 130 kilometres of range in only 10 minutes, compared to only 75 kilometres for the Mach-E.

Summary
If you are looking for a fully electric premium SUV that offers excellent value and a long list of features and technologies, the Audi Q4 e-tron is a fantastic choice. The German manufacturer has a great track-record when it comes to electric vehicles, and their new SUV is offered at a price ranging from $59,950 to $68,350. By comparison, you would be looking at up to $85,000 for the top-of-the-line Mustang Mach-E!
